Women's Football

7 Dec 2017 by Geoffrey Zach

The Yarras will be fielding a Women’s football side. We currently have at least ten interested players, a coach, an assistant coach and a trainer.

Our coach will be Tehan “Tey” Rahim whom is a level 1 coach and has previous coaching experience with the Salvo Hawks women’s side. He played at St. Mary’s Junior Football Club (Greensborough) from 1993 until 2001 as a Rover / Wingman and resting in the forward pocket. He tasted success in 1997 by winning a premiership in 1997 and also being awarded with the Best on Ground award in the Grand Final (known in the AFL as the Norm Smith Medal). He is a for time club Best & Fairest award winner. He then went onto play for Parade College in seasons 2000 and 2001.

To get this initiative off the ground we need your support, please spread the word with your friends and family as we look to recruit more players.

For anyone interested in playing, please come down and meet the coaching staff and other players at the next SYFNC Women’s football “Try out Day” on Sunday, 10th December 2017.

WE ARE READY FOR SEASON 2018, ARE YOU?
